LEARN TO TIE FLIES THAT CATCH FISH!

Take your fly fishing to the next level by learning to tie your own flies in the comfort of your own home or group space. These virtual fly-tying lessons can be customized for fly tiers of all skill levels, from novice to expert.

Each session provides step-by-step instruction on tools, materials, and tying techniques, with a focus on practical patterns that consistently catch fish. Lessons move at your pace, ensuring you gain confidence and the knowledge to keep tying at home.

Lessons can be customized to your interests, including panfish, bass, trout, or seasonal patterns, and can focus on beginner fundamentals or advanced skills such as foam flies, hair bugs, streamers, dry flies, or specialty techniques.

We are excited to offer personalized virtual fly-tying instruction. Using online video conferencing services like Google Meet and Zoom, we can provide one-on-one or group fly-tying lessons. The online instruction uses multiple high-definition cameras that allow you to clearly see what’s going on at the vise, as well as off-vise material preparation. This style of learning will enable you to ask questions in real time and even have your work critiqued as you work alongside the instructor.

The lessons can be personalized to meet your needs, including basic instruction for beginner tiers, advanced techniques, or instructions for tying specific patterns. Fly-tying lessons are offered as individual lessons or a multi-session comprehensive course.

Classes are scheduled at a mutually agreed-upon time and are generally an hour in length unless otherwise specified.

If needed, materials can be provided. Students receive a 10% discount on materials.

Lessons are recorded so you can refer back to them later.
