Tenkara Angler Winter 2016-17 Edition

December 20, 2016 Panfish On The Fly

The Winter 2016-17 Edition of Tenkara Angler is live.  I have an article on fishing for landlocked salmon inside.  I know, it's a bit of a stretch from the world of panfish, but this edition does include some warm-water topics including articles on smallmouth bass and nice top water fly from Texas that will be perfect for bass and panfish.  Check it out!

Los Alamos Ant

Harrison Steeves III first described the Los Alamos Ant in his book  “Tying Flies with Foam, Fur, and Feathers”.    I’m confident the pattern was originally designed as a terrestrial/attractor pattern for trout, but many have discovered its effectiveness in warm water.
